Common Names:  Arrowhead, Arrow-head, Duck Potato, Swamp Potato, Tule Potato

Description: Sagittaria sp.(Arrowhead) is a member of the Water-plantain Family (Alismataceae). The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 5, p. 282-283 lists three species variously native to Britain, East Indies and China, and Jamaica and South Carolina.  Sagittaria sagittifolia is now known to be widespread across Europe and Siberia, Caucasus, and Turkey and was probably the model for this design.
