Common Names:  Tree Peony, Tree Paeony, Chinese Tree Peony, Moutan, Moutan Tree Peony

Description: Paeonia suffruticosa (Tree Peony) is a member of the Peony Family (Paeoniaceae).  The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 3 recorded that this native of China was introduced into cultivation in Britain in 1789.
