Description: The Gladiolus sp. (Gladiolus) is a member of the Iris Family (Iridaceae). There are about 300 species of Gladiolus. The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 1 lists 23 species of gladioli from Southern Europe, Turkey, and the Cape of Good Hope with the earliest records of cultivation in 1596.
