Common Names: French marigold 
 
Description: The Tagetes patula (French Marigold) is a member of the Aster family (Asteraceae). The Hortus Kewensis, ed. 2, vol. 5, p. 88 recorded that this native of Mexico was first cultured in England in 1573.
